Event Description:
Step into the world of interactive theater with our full-day Autumn Workshop, designed for participants of all ages and experience levels. This workshop is a hands-on introduction to participatory performance, combining improvisation, storytelling, and ensemble work to foster creativity, confidence, and collaboration.
The day begins with a warm welcome and ice-breaking exercises at 10:00 AM. Participants will engage in fun group activities designed to build trust, communication, and spontaneous creativity. Through playful exercises, attendees will discover the foundations of interactive theater, including the importance of listening, observation, and non-verbal communication.
At 11:30 AM, we move into improvisation and scene creation. Guided by our professional facilitators, participants will experiment with character development, narrative construction, and real-time audience interaction. Emphasis is placed on collective storytelling, where each participant contributes ideas, shapes scenes, and explores unexpected scenarios. These exercises encourage risk-taking, adaptability, and confidence on stage.
After a short lunch break at 1:00 PM, the afternoon session begins with collaborative projects. Participants are divided into small groups and challenged to create their own short interactive performances. Each group will be encouraged to incorporate techniques learned in the morning, such as audience engagement, dramatic tension, and improvisational dialogue. Our facilitators provide continuous guidance, feedback, and support, helping participants refine their work and explore innovative ideas.
By 3:00 PM, groups will perform their creations for one another in a supportive and celebratory environment. Feedback sessions follow each performance, highlighting creativity, teamwork, and the unique contributions of every participant. The workshop concludes at 4:00 PM with a reflection circle, where participants share their experiences, insights, and takeaways from the day.
This workshop is ideal for students, teachers, community members, and anyone curious about participatory theater. No prior experience is necessary, only enthusiasm and a willingness to engage. Attendees leave not only with practical theater skills but also with a deeper understanding of collaboration, empathy, and creative expression.
